WooCommerce 6.3: New Product Filtering by Attributes!

The long-awaited update from WooCommerce is finally here. The WooCommerce 6.3 release, which is already rolling, offers a new lookup table that will offer the ability to filter products by attributes accurately.

WooCommerce 6.3 Release

Many online store owners were fed up with WooCommerce’s broken filtering of variable products for years. Néstor Soriano explained the problem by stating, “The problem appears when there are variable products where some variations have stock and others don’t, and the hideout of stock products from the catalog option is set. What happens is that when an attribute is selected for filtering, all variable products having a variation that corresponds to that attribute will be displayed, even those not having stock for that variation (as long as at least one variation has stock).

Site owners who have experienced this are frustrated as consumers are required to search through all the products to find the variable they are looking for. At times, they abandon the process in the first few steps when they can’t find the item they are looking for.

The new lookup table offered by WooCommerce 6.3 resolves this matter to enhance the performance of the process and offer a better experience to the customer. It creates a row for each attribute and product combination, including stock status and individual variations. This will be very helpful for store owners who sell variable products like shoes, clothes, jewellery, etc.
